This module covers what applies to you on every shift, in a residential home or in someone's living room, and what changes when something is circulating.
How this module works Read the content straight through. It takes most people around an hour. Then complete the quiz at the end. You need 80% to pass, and your certificate appears on screen immediately. The quiz is open book, there is no time limit, and you can reattempt as many times as you need.
Currency statement and scope This module reflects the national framework as at July 2026: the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards (from 1 November 2025), the Aged Care Infection Prevention and Control Guide published by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, and the NHMRC infection control guidelines. Outbreak thresholds, notification requirements and any current respiratory or gastrointestinal directions are set by your state or territory health department and change frequently. This module teaches principles and your role. It cannot tell you today's local requirements. Your provider's IPC policy and your IPC Lead are the source for those.
