Quality Area 3 of the Outcome Standards requires that VET students are trained, assessed and supported by people who are qualified, skilled and committed to professional development. Three standards deliver that outcome: 3.1 workforce management and access to professional development, 3.2 credentials and current training and assessment capability, and 3.3 current industry skills and knowledge.
Most RTOs can produce a folder of certificates. Fewer can answer the question the Standards actually ask, which is not "did an activity occur" but "can you demonstrate this person is current". This module works through the difference.
How this module works Read the content straight through. It takes most people around 90 minutes. Then complete the quiz at the end. You need 80% to pass, and your certificate appears on screen immediately. The quiz is open book, there is no time limit, and you can reattempt as many times as you need.
Currency statement Quoted wording is taken directly from the Outcome Standards for RTOs Instrument 2025 (F2025L00354) and the Credential Policy that forms part of the Standards for RTOs, both in force since 1 July 2025. The Credential Policy is incorporated into the instrument as in force from time to time, which means it can be updated without amending the instrument, always check you are reading the current version on the National Register, not a copy saved to a shared drive.
