Accessibility statement
PD Bites is built to target WCAG 2.1 Level AA , the accessibility standard most Australian government and business websites aim for. In this draft that means: semantic HTML with real headings and landmarks, a “skip to content” link, keyboard-operable navigation and forms, visible focus outlines, form fields with proper labels, colour choices checked for contrast against text, and a responsive layout that works on phones, tablets and desktops without horizontal scrolling.
Still to do before launch: run the finished site through an automated checker (e.g. WAVE or axe) and, ideally, a manual screen-reader pass (NVDA or VoiceOver) once real content and images are in place: automated tools catch a lot but not everything, especially alt text quality and reading order.
